Engineering Project

Engineering Project

The engineering is one of the largest and most popular projects on the Squadron. This projects gives the cadets involved to learn important skills, especially if they are interested in a career in the engineering industry. This project in itself runs several smaller projects. For example cadets of the squadron have over the years been busy building and developing a fully operational go-kart from scratch.  After welding, engineering and building this kart several years ago, continuous development has seen the instalment of a new steering mechanism, improved brakes, a complete re-spray of the frame to British Racing Green, and several other improvements which make this an ongoing and exciting project. Other projects run by the group are the restoration of an old Land Rover and Vauxhall, and also the foundations of work for a fully working hovercraft.  The Project is managed and lead by Civilian Instructors who work in engineering  careers, so the cadets are in best hands for the challenges that the project throws at them.
